I've been a counselor for the last 12 years, working directly with clients and supervising interns, practicum students, and other mental health professionals. I've worked in a variety of settings and roles, including multisystemic therapy, intensive in-home counseling, outpatient therapy, community mental health, college counseling, and primary care.
I'm trained in various approaches, including family therapy, brief interventions, cognitive behavioral therapy, and integrated behavioral health. I've also sought additional training in substance use and trauma-informed care. Currently, I'm learning about nutritional and integrative medicine for mental health professionals so I can provide more whole-body care to my clients.
I believe supervision and consultation are helpful at any time in a counselor's career. As your supervisor, I will focus on developing your therapeutic style by ensuring you have a consistent foundation in your theoretical orientation. I use developmental and discrimination models of supervision to help you develop as a counselor, focusing on counseling performance skills, cognitive counseling skills, self-awareness, and professional development. My supervision style, like my counseling style, is collaborative and supervisee-centered.
I look forward to talking with you more about how we can partner in your journey to grow as a counselor!
